Lake Trip Outfit Ideas

Midsize Friendly Casual Outfits of the Week

This past week was such a treat, I finally got to go back to Lake Chelan WA! A weekend at the lake is my absolute favorite thing to do and it’s forever relaxing for me. Prior to this trip though, I had several social engagements ranging from a happy hour to a teeth whitening experience! This meant a ton of different outfits for a wide variety of activities which always makes for a fun round up. To see what I was wearing, just keep on reading!

Denim Jumpsuit Overalls

To kick off the week I wore the cutest overalls from Free People. I just purchased them and boy are they comfortable. I got my true size M and they fit my curves so well I was pleasantly surprised! Alongside the jumpsuit I wore a simple black tank also from Free People underneath. It’s kind of a brami situation so I didn’t need to wear a bra which is always nice. If black is too plain for you, these tanks come in a whole host of colors and are great if you aren’t super well endowed. To complete the look, I just added my favorite black slide sandals. A basic shoe is a wardrobe must and will certainly get you far into summer without having to buy a whole new footwear collection!

Denim Skirt and Cowboy Boot Outfit

Our next look is a little bit out there but I wore it to brunch last week and felt like a million bucks! These boots are a new find from Lulus and I am obsessed with them. The texture of these is super cute and different from what I’m used to. I also think this shade of blue is so fun for summer it’ll be great for the Fourth or any concerts coming up. As to the outfit, I wore my favorite denim skirt from Amazon alongside this simple white tank from NanaMac boutique. I recommend all girls have a nicer tank in their closet for dates and elevated adventures. It’s a great way to class up an outfit and take any look to the next level.

Pro Tip: give long earrings a try! I got a few pairs from Lulus that I absolutely adore. They bring an element of glamor to any outfit and they take a simple look into something spectacular. Never ever underestimate the power of an accessory!

Dressy Cargo Pants Outfit

Later in the week I went to a happy hour with some new friends so I thought it would be the perfect time to dress up my casual daytime outfit! I wore these cargo pants with a white tank to get my hair done in the morning so to make it evening appropriate, all I really had to do was substitute the shoes from sneakers to my heeled sandals. I got these white shoes from Amazon and they have been absolutely fabulous this summer. They are surprisingly comfortable and their simplicity is just beautiful. This outfit just works overall since we are breaking up the white tank and white shoes with a neutral pant. The cargos are a bit baggy which I love and it adds to the overall vibe of the look.

Girls Night Out Outfit

Well your girl finally made it to Chelan! On my first night in town, I went to Tin Lilly’s downtown and wore an improvised outfit. Initially I was just going to wear the orange top as a dress which is how it’s meant to be worn. It’s a cute bodycon but I didn’t pack a jacket and it was showing a few too many curves for my liking. Nonetheless I ended up rolling up the bottom and wearing it as a top with my denim shorts! I love the cut of this dress and it looked adorable with the black bottoms. To complete the look, I just wore the simple brown sandals that I was already planning to wear with the dress. Some days you just need to get creative with your wardrobe and you’ll end up with brand new looks!

Casual Brunch Outfit

My final outfit is perfect for the 4th of July! I just got in this adorable graphic tee from my fave boutique NanaMacs, it’s totally rock and roll and very much my style. Band tees are truly my love language and the vintage vibe of this one was too good to pass up. To keep the outfit chill and casual, I styled it with my favorite Abercrombie denim shorts and a white pair of sneakers. These shorts are the 90s curve style and are incredibly versatile. The shoes are perfect for summer, they’re lightweight and sleek which is trending right now.

Pro Tip: always travel with a pair of sunglasses! I love this pair from Quay, they’re nice and oversized. If you don’t want to wear a lot of makeup, this is also a great way to look pulled together without trying hard. The key is just to hide your face as much as possible!

Have a Fashionable Week

I hope these outfits help your upcoming travels and adventures! I love experimenting with my wardrobe and packing for trips, it’s one of my favorite activities ever. Whether you are busy this summer like me or you’re just bored with your current wardrobe, this post should help you out.
